Projects for Families
Reaching Out for Families
Reaching Out is a local service offering confidential support to parents. We provide a safe, non-judgmental environment and offer support to parents who may be looking for advice or need someone to talk to.
We offer:
- A free and confidential service.
- One-to-one support and group workshops.
- Family work and home visits.
- General advice about emotional wellbeing.
- Support for parents.
- Information about accessing services.
- Joint work with schools and other agencies.
Referrals for children and family work can be made through schools/other agencies, or by contacting us directly.
Parents can discuss their concerns and get parental support during our parents’ drop-in session, every Wednesday between 11:30-12:30pm. Alternatively, you can contact us for an informal chat.
Our guiding principles:
- We listen without judgement.
- All of our services are free and confidential.
- We respect your decisions and choices.
- We believe in equal rights and equal opportunities.
How to get involved:
We welcome young people and volunteers who would like to contribute towards the running of the project. This may include outreach work, interpreting, and community-based awareness-raising.
Please note that due to the sensitive nature of the work, volunteers do not normally undertake direct clinical work with clients.
